About Me

My name is Mohamed Hussein. However, most people call me just Moha, or by my nickname "MohaTheProgrammer." You can also call me Mwalimu.

I am many things: a Computer/IRE teacher, a creative writer, a poet, a blogger, a voracious reader, and a programmer/web developer. Let's talk about the last one.

I was intrigued by technology the first time I set my eyes upon an electronic gadget: my father's old Motorola handset in the early 2000s.

(You remember those ones which, when they had any problems, you simply hurled them towards the nearest wall? Even though you would now have a functioning phone, you'd be left with a damaged wall!)

Since then, I have graduated to more complex technologies, such as coding websites, applications and games. However, I didn't wake up one day and decide to pursue coding as a passion of mine.

What pushed me into this field was my interaction with some government websites and portals (I'm not mentioning any specifically, but deep down, you know them). Those that take hours to load, if they're not down in the first place. Then, even after loading, it becomes Herculean to perform even simple tasks such as updating your profile.

I asked myself: what does it take to create smooth and functioning websites that perform their tasks as expected? Don't those developers know about concepts such as scaling for times of massive traffic?

And that was how MohaTheProgrammer was born. Delving into the world of programming opened up a new realm of possibilities for me.

Nowadays, I can create almost any type of site I set my mind to. If you need a specific type of site, rest assured that Moha is your go-to plug.

Frequently Asked Questions:

---

1. Why do you price yourself so low when other web developers are charging over Ksh. 100,000?

"My slogan reads 'Technology for Everyone.' I believe that owning a website should not cost an arm and a leg. Technology should be readily accessible to everyone, regardless of their income levels."

Check out the Pricing page for the cost of different types of websites.

---

2. What technologies do you use?

"I use HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript for the frontend. For the backend, I use Django, the Python framework."

---

3. Do you use Wordpress?

"No, I have used WordPress in the past, but I no longer use it to build websites. While it offers fantastic plugins and themes, these plugins can lead to serious speed issues, affecting your ranking on search engines such as Google and Bing. I now code custom features based on my clients' specific needs."

---

4. How long do you take to build a website?

"It depends with the complexity of the site. For simple websites, it is usually 7 - 10 days. More complex sites can take up to 21 days, but never more."
